A huge congratulations to the pupils of St Therese of Lisieux Primary School, Belfast, for their success in the 2023 'Chinese Bridge' Chinese Show for Primary School UK Final.

The competition is organised by The Organising Committee of the ‘Chinese Bridge’ Chinese Show for Primary School Students-UK, Chinese Bridge Club in London and Chinese Proficiency Test UK Committee.

The preliminary round was submission of videos. There were 90 entries from 34 schools across UK competing in the categories of Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 for both individual and group competitions with more than 400 students taking part, in total.

The final round was a live online event via zoom. Contestants answered two questions from the judging panel in Mandarin Chinese relating to their video performances. Ella and Eaclain represented the P5 & P6 group (Ella, Conor, Alicia, Lily, Eaclain), Ranim represented the P7 group (Ellen, James, Ejike, Rohan, Ranim). After fierce competition with 14 other groups from across the UK in the Key Stage 2 category, the P5 & P6 group came second and the P7 group came first.

Molly, one of only two contestants from Northern Ireland in the Key Stage 2 Creative Category, competed against 9 others from across the UK and she was highly commended.

All winners were invited to London to receive their award on Thursday 21st September.

Mrs Siobhan McTaggart, Principal, and staff are extremely proud of all of them.
