What an amazing experience we shared at the Families First Awards in Belfast on 20th of May .
It was an honour to be nominated and have the opportunity to represent our school and wider community but so special to have won and accept the 'School of the Year' award on behalf of all staff, pupils, parents and governors, the support received was overwhelming and we are so grateful for the families and children that we serve.
Thank you to everyone who supported our nomination and submitted comments to the judges, it was so lovely to hear some of them read out and shared with the audience.
Just one of many comments submitted to judges -
Tell us why you think this finalist should win...: I can honestly say that my children would not receive the high level of support that they receive at this school from any other school. From supporting them in their darkest days and encouraging them to the spotlight on their brightest I am forever grateful. All members of staff at St Patrick's know all the children and are on hand and know when anyone is struggling or needing a little extra encouragement. St Patrick's have strived to deliver everything they can so that everyone can pursue their interests and strengths. I have no doubt that my children are happy, safe and well looked after in their school environment.
It was such a pleasure to watch Mr. Raymond Kelly be recognised for his contribution to our school and his positive impact on our young people through his teaching, music, pastoral and personal engagements. The comments of support over recent weeks have meant a great deal to him and the awards he received were a fitting confirmation of what we all know about him, congratulations Mr. Kelly!
