Chief Executive of the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools (CCMS) Eve Bremner has welcomed the publication of the Independent Review of Education.

“Children and young people are at the heart of CCMS’s work, so we welcome the publication of the report and its recognition of the importance and benefits of education and the Catholic maintained sector.

“Along with wider stakeholders, the Council will now take some time to consider the report’s recommendations in full.

“CCMS remains committed to working with other partners in education and we trust that the report further reinforces the critical need for additional and sustained investment in education for current and future generations of pupils.”
