
Role of the Education Team
Education Advisers work as part of the CCMS multi-disciplinary teams for each locality. They provide bespoke advice and guidance to school principals and Boards of Governors on a range of leadership matters, including:
- Reflecting on the ethos, vision and values of the school and ensuring this permeates relationships at all levels;
- Supporting schools with the school development planning processes to provide a culture of continuous improvement and provision of an effective and motivating curriculum;
- Engaging with the inspection process;
- Embedding a culture of self-evaluation and continuous improvement;
- Facilitating and supporting local learning communities in delivering the Entitlement Framework; and
- Managing the outworkings of Area Planning priorities in the context of providing access to high quality education for every pupil.
Education Advisers represent CCMS on a variety of fora that advise the Department of Education on a range policy issues, including:

- Shared Education
- Irish Medium Education
- Review of Special Educational Needs
