Holy Child PS and Nursery Unit, Derry welcomed Eamon Broderick, Chief Executive, CCMS and Michael Keenan, Director of Education, CCMS for a visit during Catholic Schools Week.

The Creggan school was celebrating Catholic Schools Week, with pupils and grandparents taking part in numerous festivities, including Mass at St. Mary’s Church.

During their visit, Eamonn Broderick and Michael Keenan had the opportunity to meet the Principal, Pat Concannon, who talked them through the plans for the new school extension, and to showcase the new Nurture Nest - a dedicated space created for therapeutic play, which the pupils can access to support their wellbeing, emotional development and readiness to learn.

Eamon Broderick, Chief Executive, CCMS said “I am delighted to have had the opportunity to visit Holy Child PS during Catholic Schools Week. It was a pleasure to meet the children, the staff, and the leadership team and to see firsthand the fantastic plans for the school extension. The newly opened Nurture Nest is a real asset to the school, and I have no doubt that the children at Holy Child PS will benefit enormously from this dedicated space, designed to support their learning.”

Pat Concannon, Principal, said; “It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome members of the Senior Leadership Team from CCMS to Holy Child PS, to take part in our celebrations for Catholic Schools Week. During their visit, we had the opportunity to talk them through the exciting plans for our new school extension and to showcase the many areas of the school that have been carefully adapted to meet the needs of our pupils.’
