Concern Schools Ambassador Programme

Hello,

I'm Isabel and I work for the humanitarian organisation Concern Worldwide, helping students like yours become Concern Ambassadors for your community. My aim is to help your students’ become ambassadors and gain valuable volunteering and fundraising experiences to aid and enrich their education and personal development.

By taking part, your students will help other students like 12-year-old Sham (name changed) pictured above who is receiving her education at a Concern supported Non-Formal Education centre in Northern Syria. Over 30% of Syria’s schools have been destroyed following years of conflict, with your students help we can reach more students like Sham.

“I am very glad and have pleasure in this NFE Center because I have learned a lot. I learned

patience, how to make friends and communicate with friends.”

Sham, a 12-year-old student in Northern Syria.

What does being a Concern Ambassador mean?

  • Your students take part in an hour-long workshop that gives them the opportunity to learn about Concern's work as an international humanitarian organisation.
  • We look into how Concern’s work supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and help your pupils understand the effects of extreme poverty and the global issues we face.
  • The workshop explores how your students become charity champions in your school, presenting a pre-prepared presentation (I've already created) to their peers and helping to raise money through organising their own fundraising activities, like our Concern 24hr challenge.

Benefits of the Concern Ambassador Programme

  • This is a wonderful opportunity for your students to develop their skills in creative thinking, problem-solving, decision-making and civic responsibility.
  • By taking part in the programme your pupils will gain critical volunteering experience, which will aid UCAS and job applications.

If you would like to know more about the Ambassador programme, or to arrange a visit, you can contact myself and the team at getinvolved@concern.net.

Kind regards,

Isabel, Concern Worldwide.
