Children from St. Anne's PS and Nazareth House PS took part in a special assembly to mark the opening of a new Specialist Provision and celebrate Catholic Schools Week. The Specialist Provision was officially opened by The Most Reverend Donal McKeown, Chair of Council and Bishop of Derry.

The Specialist Provision allows children with complex needs to attend a mainstream school with their peers and siblings, while also having their needs met in an appropriate setting.

Eamonn Broderick, Chief Executive of CCMS said: “It is fitting that we are here at the official opening of the new Specialist Provision at St Anne’s Primary School during Catholic Schools Week. This school is a truly wonderful example of all that should be celebrated about Catholic maintained schools; from welcoming their neighbours from Nazareth House in their time of need, to working hard to deliver this new facility for those children in their school community who will benefit from it, the school leadership team here have truly embodied the Catholic school ethos.”
