The NIABF School Staff Award celebrates teachers and school staff who go the extra mile to prevent and respond to bullying, in addition to raising awareness of bullying in their school community.
The School Staff Award is very special to educators as it is completely pupil orientated. Pupils from schools across Northern Ireland nominated the teacher or member of staff who they deem worthy of the accreditation. In recognition of his outstanding efforts, Mr Paul Coulter from Saint Patrick’s Primary School in Ballynahinch, is the latest recipient of the NIABF School Staff Award.
Gerry Campbell, Chief Executive of the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools said:
“Catholic schools nurture pupils through holistic educational provision. I was delighted to see so many schools participating in a range of creative activities to support Anti-Bullying Week and commend all staff for their efforts to provide safe and inclusive centres of learning.
On behalf of all at CCMS I extend congratulations to Mr Paul Coulter. This award is positive recognition of the professionalism and leadership with which he serves the school community at Saint Patrick’s Primary School. I am inspired that the voice of the children was at the heart of the nomination. This is representative of the ethos of Catholic education and a testament to the quality of the educational provision in the school.
In addition, I extend special recognition to Mrs Curran from Saint Colmcille’s Primary School and Nursery Unit, a runner-up in the NIABF Awards for the positive impact that she has made on the wellbeing of the school community.
Catholic Schools continue to play a positive role in raising standards and in building respect not only in the classroom, but throughout the community and wider society.”
Mr Coulter commented:
“The NIABF Award means a lot to me personally and I am both very humbled and overwhelmed that the children from Saint Patrick’s Primary School took the time to nominate me. I am fortunate to be supported by highly skilled, dedicated, and inspirational staff who go above and beyond every day to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in our care and it is my privilege to serve this wonderful school community with them.
